Burrow & Karlsson  – Nexus Betterball Champions

Andy Burrow and Hakan Karlsson scored 48 Stableford points to win the Nexus Two Player Team event held Saturday, 4th February at Arabian Ranches. The format for the event was Betterball Stableford. Each player used their handicap index as the allowance to be taken at the appropriate stroke index holes. The best net score between the two players was recorded in Stableford points. A net score of par gives you 2 points, net birdie 3 points, net eagle 4 points and a net bogey gives you 1 point.

The winners card consisted of an outward halve of 25 points and an inward half of 23. Having started on hole 3 in the shotgun format with 32 teams competing in the Mens division their front nine holes included 3 net birdies and two net eagles on both the par fives. Burrow and Karlsson continued their steady play on the back nine with five further net birdies for the round.
 Both men shared the stage equally with each contributing on nine holes during the round. The pair used the Betterball format to perfection and never scored worse than a net par.

The Champions were closely pursued by eventual runners up Kevin Barrett and Shane Callaghan on 47 points.

In the Ladies/Mixed Division Jacques and Florence Corgini proved to be the surprise package of the day when they stormed to victory, not only did they dominate their division but also posted the top score of the day with 49 Stableford points.
