Galeppini & Chiang Rivoli Monthly Medal Champions at Arabian Ranches Golf Club.
Edoardo Galeppini returned a gross three over par 75 to win the June Rivoli Monthly Medal supported by Speed Cleaning. Galeppini made it three in a row with his dominant display over a field that included most of the Clubs top players. Galeppini had a steady round and got the job done in very hot and humid conditions, having started on hole sixteen the Champion posted nines of 39 and 36 on his way to the winning score. Edoardos round included two gross birdies and an eagle on the par 4, fifteenth hole. The Champion was tied with Alex Blom on 75 but his level par back nine proved to be enough against Blom’s 38 to secure the win.
The best net round of the day in the Mens division belonged to Division A Champion Markus Hacker, he posted a net 70 to win by one over Terry Vaughan.
Mens Division B was another tight contest; however Nigel Fenwick prevailed and took the spoils with a net 71, edging out Matthew Derrick by one shot.
The Ladies Division saw Kim Chiang return to the winners circle when she posted 81 and win the gross title, the Ladies strokeplay has become a see saw battle this year between young Kim and Adele McKelvey. The Champion playing off an 8 handicap had a fantastic back nine posting 39 followed by a 42 on the front nine and included three birdies in her round.
The Ladies Net division winner Ksenia Grayling posted the low round of the day with 68 to win by six shots from runner up Bernadette Futschik on 74. Grayling holding an 18 handicap had a brilliant back nine scoring a gross 40 to go with a 46 on the front nine to lay the foundation for her win.
